Old Quad in UoM. Looks REALLY harrypotter-ish. UoM version of Hogwarts!
Picture of the trees in University of Melbourne. The University is really really nice.. Like million times nicer than NUS. :S
Royal arcade in Melbourne central. Really pretty place :) Melb is full of nice Victorian buildings but most of the time I am too lazy to take my camera out. :x
12 apostles along Great Ocean Road. I went on a helicopter ride over the 12 apostles. Breathtakingly beautiful sight from the chopper, really worth the money.
Of course, any trip to Aust is not complete without koalas or kangaroos. I am not going to post a picture of the kangaroos because they terrorised me! ROAR. Koalas are much cuter.
2 cute little penguins hiding under the boardwalk towards nobbes blowhole. Can you spot their white bellies? Adorable Little penguins. Really enjoyed the penguin parade at Phillip Island but they didn't allow any photography. The penguin parade is this nightly event when the Little penguins will walk up the shore and return to their homes on mainland. Amazing amazing experience. Sunset near nobbes blowhole. Pretty!

Pineapple Tart

Ingredients:

1. Hong Kong Flour 600g

2. Eggs 2

3. Butter 375g

4. Salt ½ tsp

5. Milk powder 1 flat tsp

6. Sugar 1 tsp

7. 1 additional egg for applying on pastry

(Use only egg yolk plus a little egg white for applying on pastry. Brush twice; brush once and let it stand for some time before 2^nd application.)

Filling:

3 Pineapples

500 g sugar

(cook dry using medium small flame until brownish)

Method:

sift flour into a mixing bowl
rub butter into flour until mixture resembles bread crumbs
beat egg yolks and egg whites lightly. Add mixture to the flour.
mix the dough till firm and cover with a damp cloth (use ice water if necessary; if the dough is too dry…don’t add too much..)
rest dough in fridge for ½ hr
separate dough into ball like portions
separate filling into dough like portions
wrap the filling with the dough ( mould it whatever pattern u like…best not to make it too complicated..)
Preheat oven to 150 C
brush the tarts with egg yolk
bake tarts on greased tray for about 20 – 25 minutes..or till the desired colour..
let the tarts cool on a wire rack before storing in an air-tight container.

Hi all, this is quite wierd, coz i'm blogging abt an event that is still happening at this moment.

Right now, the rest of 78 is at junny's house for a stayover... but i had to leave just now coz i have training tmr morning... hmpf!

anyway, we played badminton and tennis in the afternoon before it rained, then we went up to his house to play PS2... and the girls went to watch their funny korean drama... the witch dunno what title. haha!

we had dinner at the hawker centre nearby and had ze cha... yeah... david then joined us later coz he had taken his dinner already, hence he's not in the pic...

so poor me is at home now blogging this entry... haha!

I am going india this dec for a community service project Dispense -A -Dream' 07 initiated by Pharmacy Dept. My team will help to kick start English Language Education in Bukkapatna Village in Tumkur with the vision of creating sustainable English learning campaign. We will be teaching, and also refurbishment of school classrooms. We will also undertake healthcare activities such as health awarness camps and health screening and health camps for local youth with the aim of improving hygeine levels and increasing awareness of common health issues. We will be funding the installation of water purifier which will improve hygiene and reduce the risk of water-borne diseases.

Below is the t-shirt design, it comes in female cut which is short and suitable to tuck out whereas male cut is the normal t-shirt. All t-shirts come in sizes (S, M, L, XL)

For female the design will be printed in the middle whereas for male it will be printed at the bottom corner of the shirt. All t-shirts will be white in colour.

hello hello hello...
some noise here after the looong looong pause.. haha
hmm.. on tues we tried to come up with a small get together and tried to get as many people as possible but hehe cause it was a short notice , and a weekday, only kel li, jman, josh, ziyan, wenting, sok and i could make it..hehe.. but fret not!! they promise there will be a more proper one coming up soon!! as soon else everyone is safely back in our little sunny island after all the trips. haha.
btw sok took a half day leave ! yay! :) sok rocks. haha
so we met up at city hall and had lunch at soup spoon! yum yum.. but i reallise sth.. all their tomato-ish minestrone all taste almost the same but all are nice! :)

then we went to walk around, shop and look at silly stuff.. sok and ziyan wanted to buy swimsuit for their taiwan hotsprings..then we went to the ever so amusing action city to cjeck out the silly stuff they've got. and guess wat? other than the usual solar powered head nodding smiley lil guy they have... they have new miniature version that bobs it's head up and down when triggered by a voice sensor if i didnt get it wrong.. not sure what makes it move..hehe. oh and they've got the fascinating personal ATM machine with the ATM card..haha how cute!! and of course, there's the tons of soft toys -- animals in weird but cute proportions and foodstuff. haha.
then, kel li left for sch.

for her korean class ( i'm so envious.. i wanna learn too!)

and aft tt we walked to the esplanade and later strolled akong the river to see the merlion.. and haha sounds so tourisy.and guess wat? since everyone there is taking photos with the merlion squirting water ( ok, a weird way of putting it but well can't really tink of an apt way of putting it), we decided that we should do the same! and here's our pretty picture.. haha

hi people!!!

me, ziyan, yuan tying and wenting are extremely happy!!! its like shi zi lu kou for us today

we went to bugis eat yu kee duck rice, kway teow n mee sua. then we eat this reali nice desserts at this hong kong like place tt wenting recommended last time. wenting did not join us at these two eating places cuz that freak slept at 4am and were late for our date. ROAR

then we walk ard bugis and decided we want to check out this new shopping place called CENTRAL. and we decide to walk frm bugis to clarke quay by walking pass city hall and yada yada

so on the way we stop at funan IT mall and decide to eat at the taco bell-pizzahut-kfc merged fast food restaurant and try the new meltz and taco which we nv eat before. while our stomachs are bursting, we continue to walk to central. we pass by ricciotti, that italian place which zhiyong brought us to one fine class outing, the one where the desserts went at half price after 9pm (i'm sorry i sound so auntie)

and we decided that we MUST go ricciotti after we go central

ANYWAY, central is FREAKING big!!! we think its kinda jap, korean kinda feel with alot of jap or korean fashion shops, restaurants.. the stuff there very exotic but very expensive..saw a pair of jeans going at $256..eeks..haha..we ate a super filling dinner at the kopitiam there, the guo tie/ jiao zi there is reali nice, with lots of vinegar (make that jars of vinegar for wenting). the korean kim chi ramen is reali good too!! when we were freaking full we continue to shop n act like aunties. wenting n yuan tying saw this hokkaido icecream shop and they decide to share a rather big double scoop. almost right after that we decide to go ricciotti. and because the desserts are going at half price we bought SIX, and we paid $5 per person!!! we eat half way and decided to disturb zhiyong and to tempt him, he very smart, he knew we were at ricciotti when we went OOOOOOOHHHH when the chocolate oozed out of the egg like thg in Duomo. we bought duomo, limoncino, tiramisu, soffiato, panna cotta and musa. are you all hungry now? anyway we were freaking full, but i tink i can go to bed now grinning like a stupid satisfied fool :)

We wasn't very pro at eating Duomo prettily so we anyhow hack at it and discovered that fluid dark choc flow out smoothly when we crack this chocolate "egg" in it..DARN GOOD!!

limoncino!! everyone's favourite, its the only one out of the 6 that doesn't have chocolate in it

Musa! this one got banana fused in with chocolate. i think jf will love this..haha..its got a nice crepe on the outside which wraps around the banana-choc filling..

Panna Cotta
its really yummy with that choc crust and with the berry n cream in the middle. i find it a lil too sweet though the 3 girls love it.. hee

Tiramisu!! oh this is half eaten though, we couldn't resist, and eat a few mouthfuls before we remembered we want photos to drool over

a seriously eaten up soffiato. when it reaches the table we dig in like we are starved for days. the rich fluidy choc in the rich choc cake with the cold choc chip icecream is marvellous!

btw, update on cls outing on sunday, singing at katong ktv from 1-7pm, then dinner at probably city hall area. and on monday we will crash hc and eat island creamery icecream n yada yada. pls do empty ya stomachs tt day to fill in the food we wanna eat. happy holidaying!!!

update on the taiwan trip..
ppl going: kel li, joonming, alf, jinfeng, jielin and me
downpayment: $500
total cost per pax should be $739 as last confirmed with dynasty travels
booking on sunday 15th apr (those going pls come if possible to pay the downpayment..hee..i noe kel li got exams, jf cant fly back to pay right now)
trip is from 13th-17th june
will meet up with mr boo when we are in taiwan

jielin called up feng ge and dynastry travel agencies..

at first we settled on feng ge jet star, but jet star price has risen up to the same as china air lines at $796 and the deposit is the full amount of $796 (horrors of horrors)..

so jielin called up dynastry travels and the rate now is $739, the deposit per person is $500, there's a half day tour included.

just to confirm, we will be going from 13th - 17th june (in time for alf to come back for his shooting) and we will be booking the tickets and everything this coming weekend which is 14th or 15th april and hopefully joonming has returned back to singapore to go book with us, since everyone must pay 500bucks per person :)

Difference between China and Singapore?
China airline departs singapore at 2.40pm whereas singapore airline is 8.00am
China ariline Leaves taiwan at 9.00am whereas Singapore airline can choose 1.45pm or 6.30pm
So that means we actually have more time in taiwan if we take singapore airline.

ok since i'm not getting my 4th consecutive post, i shall blog freely! anyways we had a mini class gathering yesterday, and turnout was pretty good!

Wenting, Sok, david and I went for kbox at katong shopping centre as reccomended by the 03s78 seniors i guess! the place was pretty small, but it had most of the newer songs! and cheaper than the kbox and kster too! we sang for 4 hours until our throats could not take it anymore.. =p oh and sok was grumbling that they didn't have the lin yi chen song. can't rmb the title tho.

After that we went down the road for a fake 十字路口！we first went to this kinda famous bakery and ate their muffins and cream puffs. cheap and nice! then who can forget the famous delicacy in katong! KATONG LAKSA! i think we went to the 386 katong laksa, which was b/w 59 katong laksa and some other katong laksa. haha!!

oh then was the official class dinner, where lotsa ppl turned up! after that we nuah-ed at esplanade. and then nuah-ed somewhere else. then ppl left. i guess that's how our class outing ends huh???

BUT junny shouheng and i caught Mr Bean after the whole thing! it was unltra hilarious and corny at times, but it had a cool ending to it too!

oh i've crapped enough. now let's wait for sok to post pictures! (let's forget the one taken by the photographer with shaky hands =p)

Thanks to jielin :) she called up agencies to asked for the prices, prices quoted below are the natas fair prices, so expect the prices to rise like $30-40+ when we book our tix since natas fair ends today. all the 3-star hotels are near xi men ding, which jielin was told is the place where young ppl like us shop..ahahaha.. oh and we have highlighted the period between 15th to 22nd june..this is still the agar agar period, the exact dates will be in this period so try to keep as many of the days of this period free if u wanna go :) for all china airlines, regardless of which agencies, departing time from singapore is 2.40pm and return from taiwan at 9am. people!! please confirm asap, cuz we are going in the "hot" period since its sch holidays and the tix and hotels are getting "chopped up" quickly..

there's suggestion to go Taiwan in mid june for about 5-7days free and easy :) Been checking out the package prices and stuff and ah boo says that air tix are selling rather cheaply recently so can we meet up to discuss who can make it etc? so far i only asked some of u, and wenting, ziyan, jielin, alf, joonming, jf have expressed keen interest :) while ah boo is already planning to go taiwan in that period of time.. so PEOPLE!!! sorry if i haven ask some of u cuz i keep forgeting who i asked and who i havent asked so i keep asking the ppl i asked alr and nv ask those i havent ask..pls do msg me online or sms me etc to tell me if you are confirmed!! while i try to confirm the price oso and asked those i havent ask, den we can book the air tix asap!!!!!!!! ok i'm feeling high..

oh and do tell me if you've got anything you'd like to do, like play badminton/tennis/basketball/soccer/ps2/watch movies/stone and so on. so that the courts can be booked, the vcds can be brought along, there'll be a ball to play with, and enough controllers to talk about.

heh.. a bit anti-superstar-mood to post photos of Imperial War Museum here. But still, i think some are really cool and you must see them. =]
My senior and I spent 6 hours in the museum, skipped lunch cuz the sandwiches cost 3.5 pounds in the cafe, and took 152 photos! and we did not manage to cover all the things..
We weren't allowed to take photos of the Holocaust. The things they displayed inside...the interviews..reports..stats etc, were really traumatising... as one of the survivors put it: '... after what happened, there's forever an unease with mankind...'

shall do a post on the class blog.. had an awesome time at philidalphea and princeton over the 5 days break (if u dont count the workload thats left behind and the fact that finals are starting damn soon). Its really fun like going to other unis to see friends, and doing silly stuff.. heh. we went to the philly zoo! which was smaller than Singapore's, but nevertheless interesting... surpisingly... and NBA match.. 76ers versus Chicago Bulls. Bulls kenna owned lah.. so it was kinda boring match, but still pretty stim watching Iverson and his gang. Met up with a few random ppl over there as well... tried some chinese food from philly(like OMFG).. but missed the famous south street philly cheese steak. philly was a very historic place... first capital of America, and place where they drafted the Constitution, and where the Liberty Bell resides.
Princeton was a nice place.. like perfect place actually. everything in nice neat order, no hint of chaos or trouble anywhere. the workload there seems to be double of cornell, so less of a regret getting rejected by princeton.. heh.. apparently they even have books in the gym so ppl jog and read at the same time. pictures say a thousand words, and saves me the effort of typing crap.. so here goes:

erms hello!
some of us went to vivo city on friday as lx said, so now i'm posting the pics!

the day sorta started when the gals saw the 3 huge drops of mucus hanging from the ceiling, and decided to sit in them.
then after a while, they got bored waiting for the rest of the class to come...

it was this moment when boo chanced upon the 宫 dvd that kel ng bought from china (for 3 bucks!!) while he was telling us how his dad bargain with someone from $160 to $40 bucks. -.-

(that's kel ng's hand, for fear of getting caught by police for piracy)
and yes! you are not mistaken!! that's david's stare of jealousy! see how green it is getting??
and before long, david was snatching 宫 away from boo! and boo, with his lightning fast reflexes..

leaving david in a state of shock, while kel ng was helplessly smiling, while grieving inside for his loss of the dvd.
just look that those pitiful eyes of kel ng. he's only left with his long johns.

david was.. sad... as well..

well to pacify him, our most-on and always-there-for-u class went to the rescue! and the plan was: to feature ourselves as characters in 宫 to satisfy david's cravings...

however, sok decided she will not act as 闵孝琳， the schemeing bitch (no offence to anyone!) so else else could come to the rescue???

Sep 2006: Hey thank you so much guys, for coming down for the dinner. (and Xiaowei was there!) my life philosophy: life is about people. Everyone has a life story, which is made up of many many other people's life stories. so what's my jc life, other than everyone in this picture and some others who couldn't turn up for the dinner unfortunately? Boo's lame jokes are quite funny sometimes. Pooh's jokes really CMI. Junny's anime are darn good! Serene's smile is darn nice! Sok's laughter is darn unique (if u get what i mean). zhiyong: window-shopping with girls! shouheng: table soccer, soccer, fight with joonming. lol. Kel ng is darn erm popular among girls. Alf is darn cute! Jman darn macho and cool. Josh darn orange! kel li darn errr aggressive. lixiang darn li hai (topped the class once for maths). ziyan darn nice but quiet. jielin! short but most hardworking girl! Joonming.. my..talking abt fate of 6-yr friendship! tzuyu: one of the first ppl i talked to! wenting and grace: the couple! michelle: always with bf. sigh. hello people! i stand before you today to commemorate our Even-Week-Colour-Wednesday! fyi, it was formerly known as fortnightly-colour-Wednesday, but due to the pleads of miss liew, the council (aka me) has decided to change it so as to suit her oh-so-mahfan timetable.

k enuff crap. pics!
the full turnout had to be split into 3 photos due to the staggering breaks of diff faculties. and of cos we had to take into account that some ppl's fac's quite far away...

first up, med plus pharmacy plus engine!! erm minus jielin who had to take her GEM (hm, what's GEM?haha), ziyan who had to go home for lunch, tzuyu (who i forgot to inform! sorry sorry!!!) and erm muihian. notice the gradual changing shades of blue!!

Next! Sok came after her gruelling lecture where the lecture just took 40 mins on a question. out of 4. hm notice that boo has disappeared. along with ziyan. hohohohoho!!!

Lastly! special guest appearance by serene! somehow she telepathically knew about our even-week-colour-day and turned up in, u guessed it! blue~! (ok so it was only her jacket. but nevertheless!) Well david had to give in a bit cos the rest of us were of abt the same height and he had to bend lower to accomodate us. -.-

Ok people! to sum up today's excursion (as quoted from sok).
Turnout was a grand total of 10!!
Matters discussed: 2.5hrs of laughter, gossips, stoning and er.. lunch??

um.. haha.. how do I start with this..

Well, so actually I went to NUS for a while under chemical engineering and I felt that it is probably really not my cup of tea. So I decided to take up another offer by University of Toronto in Canada to study Life Science. And then after that I was so overwhelmed by all the preparations and things that needs to be done that I also didn't manage to meet up with you guys.

So I would flying off soon and please help me pray that it is a safe trip. Hope you guys have a wonderful time at NUS. Take carez everyone and keep in contact. :)

hey hey, last night was nus med d&d... call med ball at meritus mandarin... we had table themes... and mine was "Boxers" :) dunno what there other guy's ones were... kel li was performing... so wore normal formal stuff... boo and pooh in the same OG... like no theme... so became default theme of "Prom" haha! and zy ah... maybe you have to ask him... haha!

and there's kel li playing on the drums... brilliant as usual... the special thing was that lifeng (one of the four pres scholars) was the lead vocals for their band... sry i dun have a bigger pic... was using kel's cam most of the time to take photos of himself (and the band)... haha!

Hey,
Just wanted to update the class blog a bit, since I just finished like 6 hrs of lectures back to back and totally gotta get off work for a while. Starting to miss Singapore already... but not too bad, it was later then I expected I would.. haha. Maybe cause here so many Singaporeans. I wanted to post somemore photos as well, like perhaps more about the school rather then the scenery of the school. heh.. my previous uploads were like very biased viewpoints of the nicer parts of the school. didnt take anyof the infrastructure, which I probably will when I remember to bring my camera out to classes, and when I feel a bit insane. The plantations around are supposed to be very pretty, went there once, but its so damn far that only joging will get me there, and I hate to do it with a camera. Going for the first rowing training after this, but I think i will drop it soon. Its quite interesting though, like its a varsity sport, and they travel around to compete. It takes 40 mins to walk down to the boat house though... and that is a big problem. I will no longer have problems with walking when I come back. It takes up like 1 - 2 hours of my daily life. oh well.

heyhey... since turboz has spent so much time to post old pics... i'll shall post a few of my own too! and you really sua gu leh... haha!

like me bring you guys back to 2004... j1... when everyone still had bad hair... ok maybe just me... haha...

from our very very 1st class gathering at ECP... 18th March 2004! Started the day with branch at a hawker centre... xiz just appeared out of nowhere from school to join us!

then we had lunch at ECP Macs... and xiaoxuan joined us too!

remember shouheng's funny french fries expressions? haha! who would think he'd be a commando! jia you!

we later played pool and then some arcade... it then started to rain... so it was "The Butterfly Effect" at the cinema... forgot which theatre liao... haha!

many may not remember... but i still do! remember HC Homecoming Carnival? 31st July 2004! we did lots of plannig for our games stall... remember me nagging everyone to bring used Al drink cans? haha marche vouchers as top prizes where an instant hit! and of course our resident artist shouheng and his handiwork of "The Litter Bug"... nice work dun you think?

next up... MAF... 18th sep 2004!! yeah... the theme for that year was "Yuan2"... had great fun... this year go again hor! 7th oct... so late...

next... BBQ at Kel Ng's house cum Sok Ee's birthday celebrations!!! you know what... this is one of my MOST favourite class pics... not only is the colour so nice and vibrant... i think it as one of the most pple in it... except the formal class foto of course... haha 19 pple here... i think the only one that beats it is ms chen's wedding class foto w 21 pple... junny's housewarming party this year had 18 pple in the pic...

and these are the girls who never fail to scream and scream... haha!

and then who can forget ms chen's wedding? 30 oct 2004! turboz has the class foto at the wedding... but i have the one at the SunTec sky garden... alf's shoes remember? haha!

the final event i have on photo documentation is the outing at Sentosa 11.11.04!... this is joonming in action... beach soccer against a group of strangers...

and this is shouheng pretending to be a celebrity hiding from the press... and all our picnic stuff on the trolley... haha... remember we went all the way to the airport from sentosa for dinner? and we spent so much time just deciding where and what to eat... walking all over from T2 and T1 and back again... haha... i rmb junny was damn fan2... haha!

sigh... so sad... too bad i can't post all my photos up of all the fun we had in 2004... hopefully i'd be able to do a 2005 one soon... haha! yawn....

hm realised i haven't posted in here for quite a while. not that i don't want to, but i can never put my thoughts into nice nice paragraphs like the previous posts. so i'll let pictures do the talking! hope it'll bring a slight smile onto your face when u see then! here goes part one!! i hope part 2 will appear soon.. depends on how hardworking i am. Ar a few of us went to this busking festival at orchard road. shouheng and lixiang took part too! shouheng acted as a ogle(spelling correct?) who kill the prince and snatched the princess(who was from hc as well!). then a fairy(plump middle age man with balloon wings) revived the prince, who killed shouheng. happily every after! hm u might be wondering how lixiang fits in. erm. minor role.
Who can ever forget Sentosa!! and going to changi airport after that! i was trying very hard to squeeze everything into the collage!! well i'll say no more. let the pictures do the talking!

WHA LA MAK! is this place dead or what? have all the 04S78ers died or sth? pls post!

oh ok... so today during one of our feedback sessions in NUS LT29... kel li, boo, pooh, ziyan and i started up messenger on my notebook and started video conferencing with jman all the way from Cornell! it was 2am there and around 2pm in S'pore... we saw jman's caucasian room mate and i think he was as amused as us... haha! your room looks quite cosy rite?

of course we had to queue to video chat with jman coz yuan tying and wenting (i think) had to HOG the line... hmpf haha!

hey j! upload photos and update us leh! share your new life with us! haha!

on another note... Med Fac won Best Float Presentation during this yr's NUS Rag Day! meaning we won Best Dance!!! yay! Both kel li and i were in the dance... with pooh and boo helping out with the float... ziyan came to support us... that leaving only ZHIYONG who disappeared without a trace throughout the whole Rag and Flag prep and performance... haha!

dear lx was a dancer in engin too as a short-skirted baker, joanna as a clone in science fac's dance and michelle in dentistry's dance... too bad i didn't see jo and michelle... if not would have taken photos with them... haizzz... and jielin was there helping out with pharmacy's float too!

and dun we all love photos! kel li the villianous ninja assailant... lixiang the baker.. and me the egyptian palace guard!

and that's jielin who spotted me walking around despite my thick bronze make-up!
